a homeless man used to read his book here every day. i think he is a veteran :/.. this building was squatted for quite a long time by a few people, despite the “posted: no trespassing” sign. it was certainly an ideal location to stay!
this building was very recently and thoroughly gutted.. i hope he found a nicer place to keep reading. but I’m also anticipating what becomes of this strip on garfield st.. as across the street, 71 garfield (garfield manor) is being very nicely renovated, for use as lofts and artist studios.
