Don’t worry folks i didn’t exclude the Rowland Cafe off from my previous coffee post, i just wanted to devote a separate write-up that focused on the cafe and more specifically on one of Detroit’s architectural gems, the Guardian Building.
Is the coffee at the Rowland Cafe (a Stella International affiliate) worth the hike? Maybe, a bit pricey if you ask me….but the views are def worth the trip! Fellow Detroiters and visitors to our city, be sure to put the Rowland (more specifically the Guardian Building) on your bucket list!
Ooooo and Ahhhhh as you marvel at the Native American & Art Deco inspired mosaics, Pewabic tiles, murals, and other details that surround this little coffee shop.

Fun facts: the main entrance has a working Tiffany clock (one of only two in the world) and the entire building (ALL 40 FLOORS) was made brick by brick- no concrete - an architectural feat of its time….just amazing!
